Shipping ~ USPS Flat Rate (United States Parcel Service)
We normally use USPS Priority (2 -3 day) Flat Rate Boxes for any order over a small padded envelope, which is calculated at checkout. We will email you with the exact cost for shipping & estimated ship date for any purchase over $50.00, as the box size varies depending on the products size & value. Shipping over $50.00 is not included in your original invoice, but will be billed separately.
For international shipping to and from Guatemala, America or Europe, expect 4 to 7 days via DHL International "door to door" at a cost of $100.00 or more. Expensive but worth it if you are in a rush. We will mark the customs form as you like but be aware that we have no control over customs or the length of time going through them. If you are in a hurry or have an important fashion show, birthday or other event, DHL "door to door" while expensive can often bypass airport customs pickup. We have used this service many times ourselves.
USPS postal service to and from Guatemala is around $10.00 or more, and can take one to two months, but has no tracking outside of US borders and no insurance. But the package does eventually get there! We use this service for more inexpensive orders with no necessary arrival date.
Best scenario is shipping direct from our home base in North Carolina, where regular time, tracking and insurance applies. That means we need to bring the items with us on our regular work trips back and forth to Guatemala, about every three months or so. This is best for custom orders so we can be there in person to get your work done. Otherwise wait for a shipment from Guatemala to USA which we do by DHL on a regular basis.
We can also use any carrier you choose if you would prefer: FedEx, DHL, USPS, USPS International Flat Rate, etc. We do not charge anything above the actual shipping cost, with NO additional handling fees. We do charge for insurance and tracking if it's not included in Priority Mail for free.
Priority mail does NOT go by weight, but by size: whatever you can fit in the box! That's why we have to package your order first and see how big a box will be needed. Rates are around $6 - $12- $15 - $20 or more.åÊFlat rate envelopes are available for $5.60 and up.
For more information about up-to-date shipping rates, check the USPS website and we will notify you by email as well.
